Fiorentina's attempt in pushing for top three seat of Italian Serie A current standings suffered a blow this weekend when they picked up an away defeat against Udinese. Keen on keeping their recent positive run going, La Viola were pushing forward from early minutes, but they were facing a resilient effort from the home side, that are also targeting maximum result on that encounter.
It was Udinese that eventually got themselves in front as Thomas Heurtaux finishing off an assist from Roberto Pereyra on 34 minutes. That goal turned out to be the match decider as none of the two teams managed to score anymore goals during the remaining minutes. A disappointing result indeed for Fiorentina as their chance in cutting gap with third place side, Napoli failed miserably.
