Sunderland bagged their first win in this current Premier League campaign after defeating their visitor, Newcastle United at the Stadium of Light this Sunday.
Eager to broke their winless run, Sunderland immediately took the attacking initiative and their positive approach was rewarded with a quick goal, which was netted by Steven Fletcher after just five minutes in the clock. That early goal triggered positive response from Newcastle though as they were pushing hard in search for that equalizing goal, but the home side managed to maintain their lead throughout the first 45 minutes.
After the break, Newcaslte continue their search for an equalizing goal and on 54 minutes, Alan Pardew's men finally got what they were aiming for as Mathiue Debuchy netting home an assist from Hatem Ben Arfa. That scoreline made both sides pushing hard for the win, but it was Sunderland that came away with all three points when substitude, Fabio Borino finishing off Jozy Altidore's pass on 84 minutes and gave joy for the home crowd.
