Highlights: Spartak Moscow maintain their hopes of entering the further stages of the Champions League alive by squeezing a 2-1 victory over Benfica with Lima scoring an own goal at the 1rst half which proved to be the difference.
The 1rst goal arrived through a wonderful collective team play involving Jurado,Bilyaletdinov until it as they exchanged passes between themselves in the midfield until Rafael Carioca received it inside the box of Benfica and with a simple tap in, he broke the deadlock.
Lima put his team back on the game at the 33rd minute when he headed home the ball following a neat cross that was whipped in from the right flank and the forward of Benfica Lima, bursted ahead of his marker to head it into the net.
Unfortunately for Benfica they would fall behind on the score one more time when Evgebu Makeev was rushing down the right wing and he tried to cross it into the box hoping to find his teammates but instead it was met by the defender Jardel who scored in his own net.
Benfica dominated for the proceeding minutes of the game and tried to equalize the game but Spartak held on to their minimum lead and picked up all 3 points.
