Southampton kept on grabbing positive results in the early phase of this season's English Premier League as they defeated their visitor, Fulham this Saturday at St. Mary's Stadium.

The Saint's positive approach since kick off earned a positive reward when they got themselves in front after 20 minutes with an effort from Rickie Lambert. That goal gave more confidence for the host in that encounter as they followed it up by netting a second one just before half time break, this time the goal arrived from Jay Rodriguez's contribution on 43 minutes.
Despite both teams' effort in the second half, neither managed to convert any of their goal scoring opportunities in that half as Southampton holding on to their two goals lead without much of an issue. That important home win, temporarily guide the Saints' sitting third in Premier League table with 18 points, two points behind runners up, Liverpool.
