The home side got off to a bright start as Ciprian Marica opened the scoring after just two minutes of play. That early goal gave more confidence for Romania as they managed to double their lead on 31 minutes with an effort from Pintilii. The host secured all three points from that encounter when Cristian Tanase netting home a third goal two minutes before time.
