Motherwell maintaining their runners up seat in current Scottish Premier League standings as they bagged an impressive away victory over home side Patrick Thistle this past weekend. The home side made a bright start on that encounter as they went one goal up after just eight minutes of play through Steven Lawless' effort. However, that opener was immediately canceled out by the visitor with Keith Lasley leveling the score on 15 minutes, before Zaine Francis-Angol turning things around on 21 minutes.
The away side continue to dominate proceedings as they grabbed their third on 36 minutes from James McFadden's effort and things got even more comfortable for Motherwell in the second period as they added two more goals from Lionel Ainsworth on 57 minutes along with John Sutton's effort on 65 minutes. That massive victory kept the away side sitting comfortably in second place of SPL table with 37 points from 19 matches.
