Fiorentina's ambition to chase that third place spot in current Italian Serie A standings was halted this weekend when they only managed to pick up a point from their away fixture against Parma. Keen on redeeming their disappointing league defeat over Inter Milan last weekend, La Viola put on an attacking effort straight from kick off, but it was the home side that got things going as Antonio Cassano opened the scoring on 39 minutes.
That lead only lasted for two minutes though as La Viola got back on level terms when Juan Cuadrado finished off Alessandro Matri's assist to make it 1-1 as both teams go into half time break. The host started their second half in a bright fashion again as they regained their lead through Carvalho Amauri's spot kick on 51 minutes. Unfortunately, that potential three points got canceled out when Matias Fernandez scored the equalizing goal five minutes from time.
