Chelsea's run of good results surprisingly ended this weekend as they suffered a disappointing away defeat against Newcastle United at St. James Park stadium. The Blues' ambition in keeping their pace at the top of Premier League standings suffered another halt with that result.
Playing away from home didn't stop Chelsea from playing an attacking football, but it was simply not an easy game for Jose Mourinho's men as Newastle also put on a solid display on that encounter. Both sides failed to convert any of their chances during the first 45 minutes as that period ended in a disappointing goalless draw as they set themselves up for the second half.
After the re-start, there's still that tight atmosphere as neither teams were keen on giving away anything from that match. However, midway into that second half, Newcastle managed to break the dead lock as they got in front on 68 minutes through Yoan Gouffran's header. That goal triggered more confidence from Toon Army players as they eventually sealed all three points from that weekend game with an effort from Loic Remy one minute before the final 90.
