SSC Napoli 3-1 Atalanta BC highlights: Napoli still managed to hold on for their second place spot in Serie A this weekend after picking up a hard fought victory over their visitor Atalanta on Sunday.
Being raided by AC Milan for that runners up spot, Napoli were forced to take all three points on their latest home fixture and Walter Mazzarri'e men started off brightly as they scored after just three minutes with a fine execution from their top scorer, Edinson Cavani. However that lead didn't last until half time as after half an hour Atalanta managed to equalize through an own goal from Paolo Canavaro who accidentally pushed the ball into his own net.
In the second half, the tie gets even more interesting as both sides are searching for more goals and on 64 minutes Cavani grabbed his second, this time with a fine low angled drive inside the penalty area. However, that lead also didn't last that long as in the 72nd minute German Denis slotted home a rather easy finish after taking advantage of a poor defensive play from Napoli.
However, the home team were not keen on losing more ground as they eventually grabbed that all important winning goal as with 10 minutes left, Goran Pandev nodded home from close range to seal all three points for the Partenopei.
