Napoli still holding on to their third spot seat in current Italian Serie A standings despite only managed a point from their latest fixture against Genoa. Playing in front of their loyal crowd at San Paolo stadium, Rafael Benitez's men looking really determined in taking all three points from that Monday fixture as they put on an aggressive start and created several chances before eventually getting themselves in front through Gonzalo Higuain's finish on 18 minutes.
The home side continue to push for goals, but were facing problems in converting their chances, while Genoa themselves also worked hard in getting back on level terms, triggering a much more interesting battle. Napoli looked really set in holding on to their slender lead but with six minutes left in the clock Genoa got an equalizing goal from Emanuele Calaio's wonderful free kick, forcing a 1-1 score line.
