Motherwell FC 4-1 Aberdeen FC highlights: Motherwell grabbed all three points on their Boxing Day fixture against fellow top five sides, Aberdeen at the Fir Park Stadium.
The home side were eager to give a special Christmas gift for their fans and things were looking bright from the start when Tom Hateley opened the scoring for Motherwell after just nine minutes. Jamie Murphy doubled the host's advantage in the 31st minute, but Aberdeen managed to pull one back three minutes later, making the tie interesting.
However, Motherwell ensured that they were going into the break with a win as Hateley scored his second in the game to make it 3-1 for his side. The visitor were eager to get another goal after the break as they poured forward heavily , leaving up space that was capitalized perfectly by Michael Hidgon to make it 4-1 for the home team.
Things could go much worse for Aberdeen when they conceded a penalty in the 66th minute, but fortunately Hateley failed to bag his hat-trick as Jamie Langfield saved that spot kick. However, that 4-1 victory was more than enough to give all three points for Motherwell.
