Paris Saint-Germain keeping their challenge for top spot in French Ligue 1 going as they bagged a hard fought win over Metz.

Keen on giving the pressure on their rival, Marseille, PSG put on an aggressive approach since kick off.

That positive display was rewarded as they went one goal up after nine minutes through Javier Pastore's finish.

The visitor looking much more comfortable as they double their advantage on 16 minutes with an own goal by Gaetan Bussman.

After the break, Metz regrouped and were able to improve their performance which was rewarded with a goal from Modibo Maiga, who scored from the spot kick.

On 53 minutes, Maiga got his team back on level terms after converting another spot kick after a hand ball on Gregory Van Der Wiel.

However, it was PSG that eventually came away with all three points with an effort from Ezquiel Lavezzi on 83 minutes.
