Manchester City looking set to reach this season's League Cup final after successfully bagging an impressive home victory over West Ham United in the first leg of that competition. The home side already showcasing their attacking intent since early minutes and it took them only 12 minutes before going in front through Alvaro Negredo's sweet volley. The Spanish international continue to terrorize West Ham's back line as on 26 minutes he bagged his second in that game, to make it 2-0.
Man City ending the first 45 minutes with a commanding three goals lead when Yaya Toure hitting home a fine effort five minutes before half time break. In the second half, City kept on pushing forward as they netted a fourth one on 49 minutes through Negrego who completed his hat-trick with that goal. The host were not done yet though as they added two more goals on that period, courtesy of Edin Dzeko's double on 60 and 89 minutes.
