FSV Mainz 3-1 VFB Stuttgart highlights: Mainz were looking to gain all three points as they play host to Stuttgart on Saturday.
Both teams were looking really positive right from the start, but unfortunately neither of them managed to score, ending the first period in a rather disappointing 0-0 scoreline. However, things sparked to live after the break after Stuttgart opened the scoring through Martin Hanrik's effort early in that second period.
Mainz didn't gave up easily though as they pushed forward even more in search of the equalizing goal and their effort paid off soon afterwards when Nicolai Muller scored in the 55th minute. The same player turned things around for the host as his second goal, 14 minutes from time, gave his side the advantage.
The final result was pretty much sealed in injury time when Elkin Soto scored for Mainz and made it 3-1, stopping any late attempt from Stuttgart in trying to steal a point.
