Napoli's hope in pushing for top two finish in Italian Serie A continue to get tougher as this weekend they only managed a point from their travel against Livorno. Playing away from home didn't stop Partenopei from putting on a strong attacking display as they're targeting nothing else aside from three points on that match. The visitor's positive approach was eventually rewarded on 32 minutes through Dries Mertens' spot kick.
However, the away team's lead was eventually canceled out soon after Mertens' goal as Livorno's pressure forced an own goal by goal keeper Pepe Reina. Despite both teams' strong effort in the second half in search for that winning strike, none of them were successful as until the final whistle was blown that 1-1 score line stood still.
