Liverpool keeping their lead at the top of English Premier League standings after successfully defeating one of their rivals, Manchester City on Sunday.
The home side immediately took control of situation as they got an early lead through Raheem Sterling after only six minutes of play.
That early lead gave more confidence on the Reds' players as they kept on pushing forward and eventually doubling their advantage thanks to a header from Martin Sktel on 26 minutes.
Man City refused to give up easily though as after the break they improved their game and managed to pull one back on 57 minutes from David Silva's effort.
The visitor kept on pouring forward as they sense a potential come back, which they did earn thanks to an own goal from Glen Johnson on 62 minutes.
However, it was Liverpool that eventually earned all three points from that tie after Philippe Coutinho scored the winner on 78 minutes.
