Lille's ambition to keep their French Ligue 1 title challenge on course suffered a slight blow this weekend as they picked up a disappointing home defeat over Reims. Both teams were looking really determined in picking up positive result from that weekend tie, albeit for slightly different purpose as the away side looked to move their way into the top five seat in Ligue 1. The home side definitely have a much bigger agenda as nothing but a win can keep their race in catching up league leader, Paris Saint-Germain alive and well.
After a goalless first 45 minutes, misery occurred for the home side as they found themselves trailing when Odair Fotes puts the visitor in front on 73 minutes and three minutes later, Reims got into a much better position as they extended their lead with an effort from Gregorz Krychowiak. The home side themselves only managed to reduce the damage and snatch a consolation goal from an own goal by Anthony Weber, two minutes from time.
