Barcelona still keeping their position at the top of La Liga standings this weekend, despite failing to pick up maximum points during their away travel against Levante. The away side were looking to extend their margin with arch rival, Real Madrid, as Los Blancos already won their weekend encounter a day before. Barca didn't have the best start though in that encounter as it was Levante that got things going when they went one goal up on 10 minutes through Loukas Vyntra's effort.
The Catalan side were not keen on surrendering things easily as they reacted positively by putting strong attacking pressure on their opponents, and that relentless effort was rewarded with Gerard Pique getting the equalizing goal on 19 minutes, forcing the first 45 minutes to end in a stalemate. After the break, El Barca tried to increase their attacking play, but their offensive efforts simply being matched by Levante's solid defensive setup as no goals were scored in that encounter.
