The host were having problems in getting their equalizer as they go into the break trailing their opponent by a slender margin.
Leeds continue their effort to get a goal in the second half and after several efforts, they eventually grabbed one through Luciano Becchio's effort right in the hour mark. Unfortunately, no more goals were scored after that equalizer as both teams will meet again for a replay at Birmingham's ground.
