Japan 1-1 Australia highlights: Japan finally secure their spot into the upcoming 2014 World Cup in Brazil after they grabbed a draw on their latest qualifier fixture against Australia.
Only needing a point to book their place in Brazil, Japan pushed forward in search for early goals but failed to convert their chances in the first 45 minutes which ended in a 0-0 draw. After the break, the Blue Samurai continue their attacking attempt but instead of scoring, they found themselves going a goal behind when an attempt cross from Tommy Oar ended at the back of Eiji Kawashima's net on 82 minutes.
However, the home side managed to avoid defeat and seal their passage into the upcoming World Cup when in stoppage time, Keisuke Honda buried a spot kick which was given after a hand ball inside the box. That single goal was enough to create storming celebration as Japan celebrated another World Cup appearance.
