Italy 4-3 Japan highlights: Italy completed the scenario in Group A as they join Brazil in becoming the two teams that advanced into Confederations Cup semifinals after Gli Azzurri defeated Japan this midweek.
It was far from an easy task for Cesare Prandelli's men as their opponent were very keen on staying in the Confederations Cup. Italy's sluggish start was punished when Japan got themselves in front on 21 minutes through Keisuke Honda's spot kick. Things got even worse for Prandelli's men as Shinji Kagawa puts the Samurai squad two goals ahead with his lovely volley on 33 minutes.
However, Italy bounce back just before half time with a fine header from Daniele De Rossi, before an own goal from Atsuto Uchida on 50 minutes brought them back on level term. Azzurri finally turned things around two minutes later with a penalty finish from Mario Balotelli, but Japan managed to equalize on 69 minutes through Shinji Okazaki's effort. In the end, it was Prandelli's men that finally struck that final blow when Sebastian Giovinco tapping in an assist from Claudio Marchisio four minutes before the final 90.
