AC Milan's ambition in moving their way up into current Italian Serie A standings suffered a major blow this weekend as they picked up a disappointing defeat in the Milan Derby against their city rival, Inter this Sunday. Both teams were going into difficult league spell, triggering strong ambition in snatching all three points from that weekend encounter as they created good goal scoring chances early on.
Rossoneri were looking more dominant as they had more possession and creating the better goal scoring opportunities since the first 45 minutes. However, midway into the second period, tactical changes made by Nerazzurri seemed to be working more efficiently for Inter as Milan's decision in taking off one their attacking midfielder, Riccardo Saponara, for Alessandro Matri making Rossoneri looking short in numbers in the center pitch. That situation swing things into Inter's favor as they started to create more chances, before eventually snatching a late goal through Rodrigo Palacio four minutes from time.
