Borussia Dortmund's challenge for runners up seat in current Germany Bundesliga campaign got stalled again as they suffered a disappointing away defeat against struggling Hamburg side this past Saturday. Playing ahead of their midweek Champions League tie, Dortmund looked to be losing a bit of their focus, allowing the home side to take full advantage over that situation as they got themselves in front on 42 minutes from Petr Jiracek's effort, which lasted until half time break.
Things didn't get any better for Dortmund in the second period as instead of getting back on level terms, they found themselves conceding another goal when Pierre Lassoga finished off a fine counter attacking move on 58 minutes. Hamburg finally sealed of their victory on that day with a cracking free kick strike from Hakan Calhanoglu in stoppage time. It was truly a missed opportunity for Jurgen Klopp's men as on the same day, their rival for that second spot seat, Bayer Leverkusen also suffered a defeat.
