Ghana 6-1 Egypt highlights: Ghana looking confident in securing a ticket to upcoming 2014 World Cup in Brazil after snatching a comfortable home win over Egypt on Tuesday.
Playing in front of their home crowd, Ghana were keen on making their mark in that first leg of World Cup 2014 African Qualifier third round phase. Things looking bright indeed for the home side as they got in front after just four minutes through Asamoah Gyan, an own goal from Wael Gomaa made things easier for them. Egypt looked to get back into the match when Mohamed Abo Trike pulling one back from the spot kick on 41 minutes, but three minutes later Abdul Waris regained the home side's two goals margin.
Leading 3-1 didn't stop Ghana from pushing hard as they search for more goals and they successfully added three more in that second period with goals coming from Gyan on 54 minutes, Sulley Muntari's penalty kick on 73 minutes along with Christian Atsu's effort one minute from time. That massive scoreline gave the home side in the box seat for a direct World Cup ticket, despite having to play a second leg away to Egypt.
