Following their rival, Anderlecht's victory, current Belgium league leader, Club Brugge were feeling the pressure at top as they failed to pick up all three points on Sunday. Traveling to Gent, Brugge were forced to settle for a 2-2 draw.

Gent took the lead again though few minutes after Brugge'e equalizer, as Jordin Remacle scored from also from the penalty spot. However, the visitor equalized again just before the break through Maxime Lestienne's tap in.
