Lazio's ambition to push for European spot finish by the end of current Italian Serie A season suffered another half as this midweek they were beaten by Genoa.
Both teams were keen on grabbing maximum points from that tie, triggering a tense offensive display since kick off.
Despite putting on an aggressive play since the start none of those two teams were able to snatch any goals during the first 45 minutes as that period ended in a goalless draw.
After the break, those two sides still playing their attacking setup, but it was Genoa that got things going as they broke the dead lock on 65 minutes from Alberto Gilardino's effort.
The home side were not done yet though as they kept on pushing forward and eventually securing all three points after snatching a second goal through Ioannis Fetfatzidis seven minutes from time.
