Suffering a painful defeat in the hands of their city rival, Liverpool last midweek, Everton will be looking for a pay back this weekend as they welcome Aston Villa at Goodison Park. Roberto Martinze's men might not be in the best mental state after their recent thumping, but there's no other way in making things up aside from grabbing all three points against their visitor this Saturday, February 01.
Villa themselves are in a slightly better condition as they picked up all three points on their latest league fixture against West Bromwich Albion. Playing away from home won't scare them off as Paul Lambert's men will be trying to steal something this weekend as another positive result could help them into getting a much better position in current standings.
Everton proved that they're already getting over that midweek trashing from Liverpool as Roberto Martinez's men come back from going one goal down to make it 2-1 as they bagged an important home win on that weekend encounter. Villa went one up on 34 minutes from Leandro Acuna's strike, but that lead was eventually canceled out midway into the second period when Steven Naismith level things out on 74 minutes and it was Kevin Mirallas who sealed all three points with his goal five minutes from time.
