Everton didn't need much time in getting back on winning ways after suffering a disappointing result last midweek as this Sunday, Roberto Martinez's men picked up an important home win over Southampton at Goodison Park. Playing in front of their home crowd, the Toffees looked aggressive since kick off as the immediately set themselves on an attacking mode which was rewarded when got themselves in front after just nine minutes of play through Seamus Coleman's goal.
The away side tried to get themselves back into that weekend tie as they push forward vigorously in the second half and things were going pretty well for Southampton as they did managed to draw level with an effort from Gaston Ramirez on 71 minutes. However, that equalizing goal only lasted for three minutes as Everton regained their lead thanks to an effort from Romelu Lukaku on 74 minutes. It was an important win indeed for the home side as that three points are taking them sitting in top four seat of current Premier League standings.
