Espanyol's still maintaining their slight hope of finishing in the European spot by the end of current La Liga season as they grabbed an important home win over Granada this past Friday. The home side immediately setting an aggressive approach on that game as they're keen on grabbing an early goal which will help them in securing all three points. It was not an easy task though in overcoming Granada as the first half ended in a rather disappointing goalless draw.
After the break, Espanyol kept on pushing forward in search for that all important winning strike and their effort was eventually rewarded when Hector Moreno finishing off an assist from Sergio Garcia on 79 minutes to score what would be the match decider. No more goals were scored afterwards as the home side temporarily moving into the eight spot of current standings with 29 points from 23 matches.
