Fiorentina opening their chance in advancing into the next stage of Europa League as they picked up an important away victory over Esbjerg this past midweek. The Italian side didn't shy away despite playing away from home as they put on an attacking effort straight from kick off and that positive approach was rewarded when Alessandro Matri puts them in front after just nine minutes of play.
However, that lead was eventually canceled out as Esbjerg got back on level terms through Martin Pusic within just one minute later. The away side regained their lead again on that first period through Josip Ilicic five minutes later, before Alberto Aquilani sealed his team's victory from the penalty spot on 37 minutes. Despite both teams' effort in pushing for more goals, none of them managed to convert their chances as La Viola comfortably seeing off their 3-1 win.
