Doncaster Rovers' ambition to keep themselves away got halted this weekend as they were held into a draw by another relegation dweller, Barnsley. Both teams were in dire need for points, especially the away side as they're still sitting on that bottom three seat in current England Championship league standings. The home side are not that much better though as they are only two steps above their opponent and that close position was something visible on the pitch as it was Barnsley that got in front through Nick Proschwitz's strike on 27 minutes.
It took a while before Doncaster managed to get back on level terms as it was James Coppinger that snatched the equalizing goal just before half time whistle was blown. The home side turned things around midway into the second period as Coppinger completed his brace with another nice effort. However, that lead was eventually canceled out as Barnsley got back into the tie, thanks to another goal from Proschwitz on 89 minutes.
