Bundesliga side, Bayer Leverkusen looking set to advance into Champions League group stage after grabbing an important away win on the first leg of their playoff battle against Copenhagen.
Playing away from home didn't stop Leverkusen from putting on an aggressive effort as they managed to get in front after only five minutes through Stefan Kiessling.
However, Copenhagen responded well though as four minutes later they got back on level terms through Mathias Jorgensen's header.
Soon afterwards, the home team turned things around as they made it 2-1 with an effort from Daniel Amartey.
The game got more interesting as Leverkusen were eager to regain control over that situation and they did manage to draw level with an equalizer from Karim Bellarabi on 31 minutes.
Eventually, it was the Bundesliga outfit that got their lead back when Heung-Min Son snatched their third goal three minutes before half time break.
Despite the goal fest during that first 45 minutes, none of those two sides managed to score after the break, leaving Leverkusen with an important victory as they prepare for the second leg meeting in Germany.
