Danish side, FC Copenhagen opened their chance in advancing into the knock out stage of UEFA Champions League after picking up a rather surprising home win over Turkish giant, Galatasary on Tuesday. Both sides were looking for all three points on that midweek encounter, especially the traveling team as the knew a win would bolster their chance in getting into the next round of that competition.
Although they successfully won their first match up against their Danish opponent, things were far from easy for Roberto Mancini's men as Copenhagen really put on a strong display in front of their home fans. The host's positive approach was immediately rewarded as they already went one goal up after just six minutes of play through Daniel Braaten's nice close range flick.
Despite putting on their best possible effort in getting back on level terms, Galatasaray failed to break down their opponent as they were forced to accept a disappointing away defeat which puts the qualification shot hanging in the balance.
