Still picking up inconsistent result, another interesting test arrived for Chelsea this weekend when they play host to current top five side, Southampton at Stamford Bridge. Playing in front of their home crowd, the Blues obviously keen on grabbing all three points and redeeming their midweek Champions League defeat against Basel.
It won't be an easy task though for Jose Mourinho's men as Southampton themselves have been showing strong performance so far this season. Suffering a disappointing away defeat against Arsenal on their latest fixture, the Saints will be keen on picking something positive from that away fixture to keep challenging for top four seat in current standings.
Chelsea finally managed to grab a back to back win after recent inconsistent results they have been earning after snatching an impressive 3-1 win over Southampton. The home side were stunned when withing just seconds, their opponent went one goal up through Jay Rodriguez's fine finish. Jose Mourinho's men tried to get back into the tie, but it took them until midway into the second period before managing that.
It was Gary Cahill that leveled the score for his side and from that moment on, things are opening up nicely for Chelsea with John Terry following up, before Demba Ba sealed all three points with his goal in the 90th minute. A positive result indeed for Mourinho's men as they continue their challenge for league title this season.
