CD Nacional de Madeira 2-2 SL Benfica highlights: Benfica were keen on grabbing all three points when they travel to Nacional in the latest fixture of Portugal Primeira Liga this past weekend.
Knowing that a win will get them three topping joint leader, FC Porto, Benfica were determined in grabbing an early goal against their opponent. However, instead of scoring first the visitor were instead stunned by their opponent that broke the dead lock through Diego Barselos' effort with just six minutes after kick off.
Benfica didn't wait long to respond though as in the 15th minute they got back to level term thanks to an own goal by Edson. The visitor turned things around on 37 minutes when Jonathan Urretavizcaya netted a lovely free kick effort to give his side a slender lead going into the half time break.
Nacional stormed back after the break as they grabbed an equalizer in the 53rd minute from Mateus' effort. The game got rather nasty in the last few minutes as both teams got their players sent off, with Nacional playing with 10 men, while Benfica finished the match with 9 men on the pitch.
