Wigan Athletic booked their ticket into the next round of FA Cup after successfully eliminating Cardiff City this weekend in an interesting battle between two struggling Premier League teams. The away team made a bright start on that encounter as their positive approach was rewarded pretty early in the first period as they wen't one goal up after 18 minutes through Chris McCann's effort. Unfortunately that lead only lasted until the 27th minute as Cardiff got back on level terms with a goal from Frazier Campbell.
However, five minutes before half time break, Wigan regained their advantage as Be Watson scored his team's second goal in that game. That 2-1 lead din't just last until the first 45 minutes as it hold until the final whistle was blown as Cardiff failed to snatch another equalizing goal during the second period of that weekend tie.
