Bournemouth failed to maintain their top seat in the English Championship table after they suffered a disappointing defeat from Brentford last week.
Both sides were keen on grabbing three points from that tie, but it was the home side that got off to a bright start.
Brentford took the lead after just nine minutes through Jonathan Douglas' effort, but that advantage was canceled out on 30 minutes with an equalizer from Marc Pugh.
Just before half time break, the home side managed to regain their lead though, this time with an effort from Alex Pritchard.
Both teams continue their attacking display in the second period, but it was Brentford that managed to secure their victory after scoring a third goal, which was netted by Christopher Long in stoppage time.
