Borussia Dortmund advanced into the semifinal stage of Germany DFB Pokal as they picked up a hard fought win over Hoffenheim.
Having a terrible league campaign, Dortmund were determined in getting something positive on their DFB Pokal challenge.
The home side made a bright start though as they went one goal up after 19 minutes through Neven Subotic's effort.
However, that lead was canceled out on 21 minutes as Hoffenheim equalized with an effort from Kevin Volland.
The visitor turned things around as they got in front when Roberto Firmino scored his side's second six minutes later.
Jurgen Klopp's men were not keen on giving up easily as they pushed hard before eventually snatching an equalizing goal through Pierre Aubameyang on 57 minutes.
Drawing 2-2 on 90 minutes, that tie went on into extra time and during that additional period, it was Dortmund that come away with the victory thanks to an effort from Sebastian Kehl.
