Borussia Dortmund's plan in giving a proper sending off for their head coach, Jurgen Klopp, failed miserably as they were beaten by Wolfsburg on this season's DFB Pokal final.
BVB players looked highly motivated early on as they put on an aggressive display which earned them the opening goal scored by Pierre Aubameyang after just five minutes.
However, Wolfsburg were able to rediscover their form and eventually got themselves back on level terms through Luiz Gustavo's effort on 22 minutes.
Dieter Hecking's men were able to turn things around 10 minutes later as Kevin De Bruyne made it 2-1.
On 38 minutes, Wolfsburg extended their advantage over their opponent, this time thanks to a goal from Bas Dost.
Dortmund tried hard to get themselves back into that tie, but none of their efforts in the second half was successful.
Wolfsburg comfortably holding on to their 3-1 lead as they celebrated their first ever DFB Pokal victory.
