The mid-table battle in English Championship fixture between home side, Blackpool against Middlesbrough this weekend ended in a rather disappointing fashion for the host as they were beaten by their opponent. Both sides were looking really eager in snatching maximum points as that could improve their position in current standings. That situation created a pretty tight encounter in which both sides refused to give much space for their opponent, forcing the first 45 minutes to end in a goalless draw.
Things continue to look tight in the second period, but everything suddenly opens up in the last few minutes when The Boro got themselves in front through Mustapha Carayol's effort on 84 minutes. The same player continue to cause problems for Blackpool in that final few minutes as he completed his brace with a very late effort in the 93rd minute to seal all three points for his side. That victory took Middlesbrough sitting at 13th place in Championship table leading just a point from their weekend opponent.
