Blackburn Rovers started their new English Championship season in a disappointing fashion after suffering a home defeat from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Both teams were determined to kick off their season in a flying fashion as they put on an aggressive display since the start.
However, it was Wolverhampton Wanderers that got themselves off to a better start as they got in front after 29 minutes through Benik Afobe's effort.
The home side were not keen on giving up easily as they pushed forward vigorously and did earned an equalizing goal 10 minutes later from Craig Conway.
Wolves regained their lead though just before half time break, this time with a goal coming from David Edwards.
Blackbun tried hard to get back into the tie once again, but until the final whistle was blown the score line remained 2-1 in Wolves favor.
