The home team started off brightly as they already opened scoring after 12 minutes through Maxi Pereira's low shot. 10 minutes later it was 2-0 already when Eduardo Salvio curled in his left foot into the corner of Gil Vicente's goal. Lorenzo Melgarejo pretty much sealed things off before the half time break with a fine chip from inside the penalty area.
After the break, Benfica didn't stop their attacking initiative as Lima netted his side's fourth after scoring a simple tap-in on 65 minutes. The rout wasn't over yet as the home side grabbed their final nail in the coffin with an easy finish from Nicolas Gaitan deep in stoppage time.
