Portuguese side, Benfica dramatically missed out on a spot for UEFA Champions League knock out stages despite successfully grabbing a home win over group leader, Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday. The home side needed all three points with good goal scoring margin for a slim shot at overcoming their rival, Olympiacos, but things didn't seem to go into the host's hand when they found themselves trailing after 37 minutes as PSG scored through Edinson Cavani.
Benfica were not keen on giving up though, especially in front of their loyal crowd as they bounced back just before half time break with a penalty goal from Lima. After the break, things continue to look interesting as both sides still pushing hard for all three points, but it was the home side that eventually bagged all three points thanks to an effort from Nicolas Gaitan on 58 minutes.
