SL Benfica 1-0 Academica highlights: Benfica maintained their joint position spot at the top of Portuguese lead after picking up an important win over their opponent Academica on Sunday.
The match was far from pretty as both teams didn't managed to assert themselves well in the first period, especially Benfica that supposedly more superior and in need for maximum points if they're keen on keeping pace with rival, FC Porto.
Chances were really scarce in that match as Academica did well in containing Benfica, up until the final minute of stoppage time when the home team earned a penalty kick which was converted well by Brazilian striker Lima. Things were heating up though in the final few seconds with Academica lost Helder Cabral who got sent off and there were a brawl after the match, which didn't stop the host from collecting an important three points.
