Bayer Leverkusen practically sealed their third place seat for this current German Bundesliga season following a slender home win over Hertha Berlin.
Playing against one of the Champions League place rivals, Leverkusen put on an aggressive display straight from kick off.
The home side's positive effort was rewarded after just two minutes of play when Julian Brandt puts them in front with his goal.
Leverkusen got even more comfortable when Lars Bender netted his team's second on 16 minutes.
However, Hertha were not keen on giving up easily as they fought back and were able to pull one back on 21 minutes courtesy of Vedad Ibisevic.
Nevertheless, Leverkusen did more than enough to take all three points as there were no more goals scored by either sides until the final whistle was blown.
