BATE Borisov are the new and surprising leaders of Group F with a hard worked and triumph over the Germans Bayern Munich.
The Germans had their fair of possession in the game and they did everything in their power to score but it just wasn’t their day. BATE Borisov struggled on the opening minutes on even getting the ball under their control but despite only have some few chances they managed to make it count.
Volodko slipped in a short pass to Pavlov and shockingly enough they were ahead 1-0. That was all the hosts needed to score and get a vital goal. Munich was playing all over the pitch trying to find their goal with some corners being dipped into the penalty box, headers being denied by the goalkeeper as well as free-kicks. Somehow, Munich’s attacks were being denied.
Things got worse for Bayern after Rodionov doubled the lead for his side after he exchanged some nice passes with Olekhnovich and later smacking it past Manuel Neuer.
Franck Ribery scored Bayern’s only goal in injury time but it would make no difference at all as BATE would find the back of the net one more time through Renan Bressan. BATE are now in a secure 1rst place position in Group F while Bayern will need to add more points if they want to seal their advancement into the next stages of the Champions League.
