Aston Villa saw their FA Cup run stopped in the third round after suffering a rather disappointing home defeat against League One side, Sheffield United this past weekend. The Villans were actually playing in front of their home crowd, but things didn't seem to go well for them as instead of taking the lead in that weekend encounter, they found themselves trailing after 20 minutes from Jamie Murphy's effort.
The home team tried their best in getting back into that tie and midway into the second period they were able to draw level when Nicklas Helenius scored on 75 minutes. However, that situation changed again soon afterwards as Sheffield managed to regain their lead thanks to a goal from Ryan Flynn on 81 minutes. That second goal sealed the away side's passage into the next round of FA Cul as Villa were unable to snatch another equalizer.
