Chelsea made their way into the next round of England Carling Cup after successfully defeating one of their arch rival, Arsenal on Tuesday at Emirates Stadium.
Although both sides not putting on their best possible eleven, considering the tight schedule, but it was still a thrilling encounter in which they are keen on grabbing nothing more than a win. Playing in front of their home crowd, Gunners were keen on making a bright start, but instead of getting that early lead, they found themselves trailing after 25 minutes when Azpilicueta puts Chelsea ahead, capitalizing on a mistake from Arsenal's defense.
That goal triggered strong reaction from Arsene Wenger's side, but they were having problems in breaking through their opponent's defense and were forced to take more long range shots, which didn't find its target. Chelsea themselves continue to threat on the counter as they eventually bagged their second on 66 minutes from Juan Mata's excellent long range finish, which sealed his side's passage into the next round.
