Current Portuguese league runners up, Benfica failed to keep up with first place Porto after Jorge Jesus men only managed to grab a point from their travel to Academica on Sunday.
The home side took the lead from a spot kick, which was converted expertly by Salim Cisse. Benfica equalized early in the second half also from the penalty spot which was successfully taken by Oscar Cardozo. That spot kick also resulted in a red card for an Academica player.
Academica took the lead again though, once again from the penalty spot this time it was converted by Wilson Eduardo. The Eagles eventually equalized again, five minutes from time with a goal from Lima.
