Alex Song says he is not surprised Gervinho has been a success after arriving at Arsenal from Lille in the summer.

Gervinho helped inspire former club Lille to the French title last season and Gunners midfield stopper Song, has admitted he knew of Gervinho’s ability. He told SkySports, ‘I watch a lot of the French League at home so I knew when Gervinho arrived that he was a very good player’.

‘I’m not surprised to see him doing well here and I think there’s more to come. It’s not easy to come to the English league’.
